This is a very exciting time and we are happy that you have chosen a Forever Loyal Labradoodle to join your family! But did you know there are some items you should pick up around the house to ensure your puppy stays safe and healthy? Below we’ve listed some harmful and dangerous items to Labradoodles.

Puppy proofing your home – Australian Labradoodle puppies are very smart and have a great sense of smell thus, you will need to keep a careful watch on what they find to put in their mouths. Here is a list of things to be sure that are not anywhere accessible to your puppy/dog.

Food not to feed:

    • Avocado
    • Onions

    • Garlic

    • Grapes and Raisins

    • Chocolate, in all forms

    • Gum: Regular + Sugar Free

    • Salt

    • Spoiled Food: throw the leftovers away!

    • Raw yeast dough

Keep these out of reach:

      • Cotton + Ear Swabs

      • Hair Ties

      • Sewing Materials – Needles, String, Scissors, etc..

      • Twist Ties + Plastic Wraps

      • Coins

      • Buttons and any small hard objects

      • Ball that are to small, or have a smooth coating

      • Ear plugs

Harmful Items that Should not be in Contact with Puppy:

  • Cat Food

  • Laundry + Soap Detergents, Laundry Pods

  • Litter boxes

  • Insect + Any Type of Animal Killer

  • Toothpaste

  • Prescription Medications + Vitamins

  • Outdoor Products such as Lighter Fluid

  • Pens + Markers + Pencils

  • Gum + Sugar Free gum

  • Alchohol + Tobacco Products

  • Cleaning Disinfectants + House Hold Products

  • Fabric softener sheets

  • Anti-inflammatory meds (aspirin, ibuprofen,etc)

Do they make good guide/therapy dogs?

Because of their warm and loving personality Labradoodles are one of the best Therapy dogs for people with autism, anxiety, depression, and a number of other disabilities.

Do they make good watch dogs?

Labradoodles are great family pets due to their loving personality, but they’re not great for protection! That’s because this joyful dog breed, typically easygoing, and we’re not bred to be aggressive.

Are they easy to train?

Labradoodles are very easy to train as they are eager to learn and highly intelligent.

Are they hypoallergenic?

The carefully bred, low to no-shedding coat of the Australian Labradoodle makes them an allergy-friendly dog, but no dog is truly hypoallergenic. Australian Labradoodles are not the same as other doodles.

What is their life expectancy?

Labradoodles have an average life expectancy of between 12-15 years.

What are the generations for Doodles?

F1 Labradoodle

  • Product of a Standard Poodle and a Labrador Retriever

  • 50% Labrador Retriever and 50% Standard Poodle

F1b Labradoodle

  • Product of a F1 Labradoodle and a Standard Poodle

  • 25% Labrador Retriever and 75% Standard Poodle

Multigenerational Australian Labradoodle

  • Product of two Australian Labradoodles (F1b or greater generation) with selective and limited infusion of breeds.

  • The Australian Labradoodle carries the DNA of the Labrador, Poodle, and Cocker Spaniel (American or English).

  • True hybrid yielding ideal temperament, coat, and conformation

  • Most often is the result of the crossing an Australain Multi-Gen Labdradoodle with another Australian Multi-Gen Labdradoodle. An Australian Labradoodle can be created by crossing a Poodle to another Australian Labradoodle, a Cockapoo to a Labradoodle, a Labradoodle to a Cocker Spaniel and the like, resulting in the three-breed combination.
